"This Space In Between" (2023)

Music composition, music cover arrangement, live performance. Inspired by the connections between migrant experiences and pop music, This Space In Between explores embodiments of in-between states. Through songs, sounds, remixes and calculated choreographies, three performers examine states of being in motion, arriving, not/working and celebrating for their inherent in-between places, in-between times, and in-between languages. Influenced by transgenerational migration experiences in Germany, by queer music cultures as well as by the losses and delights of the working class, the performers improvise post-migrant pop utopias. They employ polyphonies, hybridity and in-between cultures as choreographic strategies to claim space and as transformative paradigms for social and artistic formations.

Music composition, music performance, live performance. - Giacomo Puccini's opera "La Bohème" from 19th century Paris to 21st century Berlin. Based on scenes from the melodrama and against the backdrop of current feminist positions, women living in precarious conditions and the ensemble of glanz&krawall - bohemians of the present - form the SUPERGROUP, only with 100% women. A group that can be trusted to do superhuman things: The women's troupe, experienced in the art of living, recomposes all the characters, shifts the perspective of the opera, deconstructs outdated gender stereotypes, hijacks the lightness of the male protagonists and transforms them into female action patterns. Together they put on a music theatre performance at the Berlin club Mensch Meier that combines analytical tutorials and liberating electropunk concerts – and in which individual voices grow together to form a band.

Tango with Lions - A Long Walk (2013)

Every song in "A Long Walk" is a small story, self-contained, with routes through dark dreams, night trips, sunny fantasies, memories and stories of love and separation. Tango with Lions - The Light (2018)

"The Light" documents a desire to emerge towards the light through nine stories-question marks of introspection. Stories of separation, pleasures, deconstruction that motivate either nihilism and sinking into darkness, either excessive optimism or the acceptance that darkness and light can steadily coexist in music. This natural coexistence is the thread that unites the songs of “The Light” musically and lyrically. Nine songs, different in style, reaffirm that the atmosphere in Tango With Lions’ music is created through images that lure the music, with the lyrics being the key link.
